Seconds matter, and it’s comforting to know that highly skilled medical professionals are only moments away. The Virginia Gay Hospital’s Emergency Room’s (ER) Level IV Trauma Center is equipped with the latest, cutting-edge, life-saving equipment, and staffed continually (24/7) by expertly trained providers.

Time is of the essence during a medical emergency and our ER team, supported by on-site cardiac and trauma care equipment, promptly delivers expert emergency care within moments of arrival. Once stabilized, patients either return home, are taken to our Acute Care unit for observation, or are transferred to another facility for additional treatment (via ground or an air ambulance) by area emergency medical technicians (EMTS).
