Emergency Room

Time is the most critical factor affecting the survival of traumatic injury, heart attack, or other serious medical emergencies. The Virginia Gay Emergency Room is no further away than it was before, but there are many changes.

There is a dedicated Emergency Room entrance staffed 24/7. The ER now includes five fully equipped private exam rooms, a dedicated cardiac room, a trauma room, direct access to the full array of expanded imaging services, and it is just moments away from the Life Guard helipad. Family can meet with physicians and staff for updates and consultations in the new, private ER waiting room.

If an emergency visit requires an overnight stay for observation, a private room in Acute Care is just down the hall. If a Vinton Family Medical Center doctor is your family physician, you'll have direct access to the professional you trust most.
